General Contracting

General contracting (GC), also known as Design-Bid-Build, is a construction delivery method where one main contractor oversees the entire project. The GC is contracted early to provide construction planning and budgeting. The architect or engineer then completes the project design and plans. The GC manages bidding and subcontracting of all construction services. While GC may extend timelines, it consolidates responsibility under the main contractor versus the company managing separate contracts under other methods.
